Escaping to Wayanad
Escaping to Wayanad
Wayanad is one of those places that feels untouched—where the air is cooler, the forests are denser, and life slows down just enough for you to notice the little things. My trip there was like pressing pause on the usual chaos.
The drive wound through hills wrapped in mist, with spice plantations on both sides. Edakkal Caves was my first stop—climbing up was a bit tiring, but standing in front of those ancient carvings felt like brushing shoulders with history.
Later, I found myself at Soochipara Falls, the water thundering down into a pool surrounded by rocks and greenery. It was wild, refreshing, and exactly what I needed.
Evenings in Wayanad were calm. I stayed in a cozy homestay, ate simple Kerala meals, and sat outside listening to the forest—crickets, rustling leaves, and sometimes even the call of a night bird.
Wayanad isn’t about rushing through sights; it’s about soaking in nature, whether you’re walking through paddy fields, spotting elephants at Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, or just watching the sun fade behind the hills.
Sometimes, the best journeys aren’t the loud, busy ones—but the quiet escapes like Wayanad.
